Hexagon Ball Pillow – Blog Hop Crochet Along

Hello Everyone! I am a little late getting this up (so sorry!), but I am so excited to show you all my final project for the Blog Hop Crochet Along! I decided to make a ball pillow, which I think turned out really great. I had so much fun participating in the Crochet Along and loved making this pillow!DSC_0241To make this pillow, you will first need a ball pillow insert. I found these at Fairfield World that are a pretty good price. There are two sizes: a 12in and a 16in. I made this pillow with a 12 in pillow insert, but you can certainly add a few extra hexagons and use the 16in. DSC_0335In order for the hexagons to fit around the ball, I modified the hexagon pattern a bit to make a pentagon (think soccer ball). The pentagon pattern is included at the end of this post! To assemble the pillow, you need to attach a hexagon to each side of the pentagon, then join the hexagon sides together. I joined the hexagons and pentagons using this method by Attic24.

DSC_0345I assembled the entire pillow, except for the last two pentagons so I had a big enough hole to fit the pillow insert inside. In the picture below, I left the blue pentagon and the navy pentagon out, and did not join the touching edges of the gray hexagon and green hexagon. That left just enough squeeze in the pillow form. Hexagon Pillow

After the pillow is in, I whipstitched the last two pentagons, and two edges of the hexagons into place. And that’s it! Your pillow will be the perfect addition to any room!

I had so much fun participating in this Crochet Along, and again, a special thank you to KnitPicks for sponsoring!
