Granny Hexagon Pattern – Blog Hop Crochet Along

I am so excited to share with you my hexagon pattern for the Blog Hop Crochet Along! Materials

  • KnitPicks Brava worsted weight
  • 6.0mm crochet hook

Stitches

  • slst – slip stitch
  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • dc – double crochet
  • dc2tog – double crochet two together
  • dc3tog – double crochet three together

Before you begin, ch 5 and slst in first ch to create ring. You will work out of this ring for the first round.

Round 1: ch3 (counts as first dc), work 11 do in ring, join with slst in 3rd chain of beginning ch3, fasten off (12 dc total)DSC_0266

Round 2: join new color in any double crochet, sc in same stitch, ch3, skip dc, *sc in next dc, ch3, skip one dc* repeat between ** 4 more times, join with slst in first dc, fasten off (6 ch3 spaces)DSC_0269

Round 3: join new color in any ch3 space, ch2 (counts as first half of first dc2tog), dc, ch2, dc2tog, ch1. In next ch3 space, *dc2tog, ch2, dc2tog, ch1* repeat between ** 4 more times, slst in top of first dc2tog, fasten off.DSC_0278

Round 4: join new color in any dc2tog, sc in same stitch, *sc in next dc2tog, ch3* repeat between ** 10 more times, join with slst in first dc, fasten off (12 ch3 spaces)DSC_0282Round 5: join new color in any ch3 space, ch2 (counts as first dc of dc3tog), dc2tog, ch2, dc3tog, ch 1, in next ch3 space dc3tog, ch1, in next space work *dc3tog, ch2, dc3tog, ch1, next ch3 space, dc3tog, ch1* repeat between ** 4 more times, join with slst in first dc3tog, fasten offDSC_0290

Round 6: join new color in ch2 space, ch2, dc2tog, ch2, dc3tog, ch1, in next ch1 space dc3tog, ch1, next ch1 space dc3tog, ch1, in next ch2 space, *dc3tog, ch1, dc3tog, ch1, next ch1 space dc3tog, ch1, next ch1 space, dc3tog, ch 1* repeat between ** 4 more times, join with slst in beginning dc3tog, fasten off.DSC_0293

        Finally got back to this beautiful hex. Well, it is now flat! yea!! But, is it supposed to be 5 inches or 5 and a half? Mine is 5 and a half!

          That’s great! Mine are about 5 inches. Your stitches may be looser than mine so that may be why yours is a little bigger. I would try going down to a smaller hook. That should make it a little smaller. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
